Recent changes in national curriculums in England and around the world mean all children in primary schools (from age 4 through to 11) have to learn computer coding/programming and other vital STEM skills. Programming has rapidly become one of the most wanted skills by employers, especially given technology is constantly developing and is increasingly all important.
CODO is an invaluable tool to assist parents and teachers to teach children the fundamentals of computer coding and the kids have fun playing but at the same time they are creating computer concepts, like algorithms and the sequencing of instructions, and developing a logical mind-set. With this innovative card coding game, children learn the fundamentals of computer programming without using a computer or requiring any prior knowledge of computers or coding/programming.

EASY TO PLAY
CODO is an exciting, fun and easy to play strategy game that appeals to children between the ages of 7 to 12. It engages and empowers children, encouraging them to learn computational thinking (STEM skills) through play. Children have fun playing and at the same time, without even realising, they are learning vital STEM skills too.
CODO is a fun strategy card game that 2 to 4 children (ages 7 to 12) can play. The game is simple to play. The players need to create computer programs using the cards they hold in their hands, while also stopping other players from creating their computer programs by playing Bug cards (like giving another player a virus). The player with the most complete computer programs at the end of the game wins.
The goal of Codo is simple – be the first player to score 5 points.
Every player picks up a PROGRAM card, and then the player must then collect the COMMANDS required to create the program specified on the card. Every time a player completes a program they score one point. In effect, players create computer programs using their cards.
Children are playing a card game, but at the same time they are creating computer concepts, like algorithms and the sequencing of instructions, and they are learning the invaluable skill of problem solving. By doing so they are developing a logical mind-set, which is required for coding/programming. By playing CODO, kids are developing the logical foundations for programming computers, thus when they start to learn actual coding later in life they already have the required mindset. In effect, the children are creating computer programs using only cards – no computer required.

Bright and Colourful
Children learn the fundamentals of computer coding in a fun way – without using a computer or requiring any knowledge of computers. They are having fun without staring at a TV, or playing on tablets, iPads, smartphones and other gadgets.
Children are having fun playing a card game, and at the same time they are learning to create computer concepts, like algorithms and the sequencing of instructions, and they are learning the invaluable skill of problem-solving and how to think strategically.
High Quality
This card game has been made of high-quality materials, designed to withstand wear and tear. You can drop it and it won’t break. It’s portable. And it’s fun. Also, since it requires a minimum of 2 players, your kids will be socialising with their family and friends.
Learning new skills, like the fundamentals of computer coding, has never been easier!
Educational
By playing Codo, children are learning vital STEM skills, preparing their mind for the challenges of computer coding, learning vital computer concepts (like algorithms and the sequencing of instructions), and developing a logical mind-set.
As we at Bits and Bytes Games like to say, we’re teaching digital skills using analogue tools.
HAVE FUN WHILE LEARNING
Codo is a fun game to teach children computational thinking without using a computer. It’s family time not screen time.
STRATEGIC THINKING
Not only do children have to create computer programs using cards alone, they also have to think strategically to stop the other players from winning.

LEARN WITHOUT TECHNOLOGY
Have your kids learn the principles of coding and computational thinking without them having to spend time using computers, tablets or smartphones. CODO is simple to play and requires no specific computer coding knowledge on behalf of adults or children playing.
TEACHES CHILDREN VITAL STEM SKILLS
Teaches STEM skills required by the National Curriculum in countries around the world.
THE CREATOR
CODO is the latest game from the creator of the internationally successful Bits and Bytes card game.
Building on the success of Bits and Bytes, the creator wanted to create a game that could be played by young and old. CODO is more strategic, yet maintaining the high level of interactivity and fun of Bits and Bytes.
TOGETHER TIME, NOT SCREEN TIME
Playing CODO is together time, not screen time. Children have fun playing CODO without realising they are developing a logical mindset, as well as learning basic computer concepts like algorithms, writing code, understanding commands and debugging. These skills are essential learning for education curriculums around the world.
